Weight—–1 lbThe dawn on the 21st century brought us the first look at the Tachyon balisong butterfly knife. In 2012, we saw the second generation and finally 2015 brought us the latest installment of Microtech’s balisong entourage. Re-engineered from top to bottom, this model was lengthened with both the blade and the handle scales which allow for a better balance. The handle scales themselves were machined from a solid billet of 6061-T6 aluminum handles and the redesigned silicon nitride race bearing system creates incredible fluid-like action. The Tachyon III also includes a patent-pended spring loaded latch that sits in a milled channel so it remains flush against the handle when not it use. This model, the 173-10, features a black handle, standard hardware, a pocket clip designed for tip up carry only and a drop point blade in a stonewash finish. Made in the USA.
