Underwood Black Cherry Coated Hard Cast Wadcutter ammunition delivers a 225-grain lead projectile in .45 Colt. Its flat-nose wadcutter profile is designed for deep, consistent penetration, making this load suitable for hunting and protection in the woods. The polymer-based Black Cherry coating helps reduce friction, protect against gas cutting, and virtually eliminate lead-to-bore contact and lead fouling. Each new-production, non-corrosive cartridge uses a reloadable nickel-plated brass case and Boxer primer. The load produces a listed muzzle velocity of 1,050 feet / second and muzzle energy of 551 foot-pounds.
